What are the reasons for the bulging of lithium batteries in electric vehicles?
Battery is the core component of electric vehicle. The word "lithium ion battery" is familiar to motorists. In recent years, the phenomenon of battery bulging is common, which makes many consumers very distressed. Because once there are individual battery bulges in a group of batteries, the whole group of batteries must be replaced.
1. Relief valve pressure too high
In order to ensure safety, the lithium-ion battery of electric vehicles will have a safety valve. When the pressure in the battery of electric vehicles rises, the safety valve will automatically open and release the pressure, so as to ensure the normal use of the battery. When the pressure in the battery rises, but the safety valve cannot be opened, the lithium-ion battery will bulge.
2. Excessive charging current
Under normal circumstances, the lithium-ion batteries of electric vehicles produced by regular manufacturers have a certain charging current value. However, the excessive voltage and charging current caused by various reasons can easily lead to too fast precipitation on the electrode plate, which will lead to insufficient chemical reaction. At the same time, if the temperature inside the battery rises very quickly, but the inflation is not timely, there will naturally be a bulge.
3. Series overcharge
Some lithium-ion batteries of electric vehicles are used in series, which can have more capacitors. When the series battery is overcharged, it will also lead to poor gas recombination in the battery, resulting in bulging of lithium-ion batteries.
4. Unqualified battery
If the lithium-ion battery is not designed with an escape path, there will be too much pressure in the body and the lithium-ion battery will be bulging.
